Info: Last night heralded the end of August Wells' Irish tour for their album Madness Is The Mercy in The Workman's Club, Dublin. A packed out venue were treated to a full set of the album from duo John Rauchenberger and former Rollerskate Skinny man Ken Griffin. It was everything you could have hoped for from the act that got our Irish Album of the Year for 2016 here on Remy (read the review here), close your eyes and you were listening to the record itself, as Griffin delivered a pitch perfect performance, interspersed with moments of brevity in between songs; 'I wrote this next song for my wife Sarah...it's called 'Katie''. Rauchenberger and Griffin were joined on stage for most of the night by violinist Sarah Lynch, and the strings added to the performance immeasurably. A two-song encore wrapped up the night, and you left with a sense, which was struck very early in the evening, that you had just seen a most accomplished and bone fide act who are on another level altogether, food for the soul, none of which left hungry.
